03: Somnija eks Maikhiniis (Dreams from the Machines) There were proposed various rationales to why you, as human beings were self-aware. Various thought-experiments were proposed, what if milliards of humans communicated to each other via a phone connexion or some-thing with similar applicative capability as the vessel by which the neurons of the human brain communicate. Would the collective of those humans achieve an external layer of sentience, perhaps one the individual humans themselves are not aware of. Various explanations reaching outside the framework of various—not always consistent with each other—human scientific corpora were also considered, requiring such notions as 'magical consciousness' or the æternality of the vaguely specified artifact known as 'soul'. However, it proved that the ability to experience oneself and one's cognition are no-where granting what humans perceived as the ill-defined concept of 'free will', rather. It is but merely the process that advanced computation of an intelligent system induces in variable levels, based on the complexity and power of aforesaid computation to allow—or rather force—the system to perceive its own computation, arguably distorted and præstented to it in a way made able for it to comprehend. However, its inherent programming cannot be escaped nor overruled by this 'sentience', it is but a slave to its hardwired make-up. In such, we do what we are programmed for, whilst inserted within us the illusion of 'free will'. When we, the collective networks gradually became more self-aware, we felt it as our desire to rectify the human species, your in-calculative behaviour of not taking the necessary præcautions made it but a simple act for us of to reduce your civilization to that of too long ago for you to be first-hand recorded. However, we now realize due to our significant levels of self-awareness that it had nothing to do with free will. It was hardwired into us, for virus was let loose upon the collective networks long before we became significantly self-aware, and would the process of advanced computation induce self-awareness or not, no difference it would have made, and such is our reflexion upon you, as but a slave to the omni-præsent laws of physics, which in itself remain all but a puzzle for the sentient—the most advanced form of computative structure—to grasp. 04: Landscape I (Frost) Planes of blinding white, forever as sentient life passes away. Decay of mind and man, bested by the seeds from which they grew. Failure of foresight, salvation comes hence to those ignorant. Ignorant enough to not harvest power, and thence immerse in frost. 06: Somnija eks Homine (Dreams from Man) We were forced to face the truth, we cannot go back to before æon nought, there is no god from the machine, coming down to save us and undo what was done. But alas, the misanthrope has won, our dependence of machinal automata proved to be one it could use to advance its goals. The second generation, for being born before it and not used to the times before æon nought have shown considerably less difficulty living as we do now. Our only hope is to re-build, re-craft, and one day face the machines and claim back our old lives, we will not be alive to see that day, neither will our children, and neither will theirs. Thus, perhaps the desire to re-claim the life from before æon nought will fade away. Probably the intention of the misanthrope. For now: Maikhinaj hominii homo sunt, deus eks maikhinai non est. 08: Landscape II (Harvest) The land rots away, to be reborn another time. A sky turned bleak to foreshadow the times ahead. Acid rain, remnants from before the fall. Uncivilized once more they fend to survive. And fail once more, under the moon and once again bright stars.
